Let’s Pretend
&
Alphabet City

First written as a short story during the summer of 2016, the piece was transformed into a play (“Let’s Pretend”) and has received several productions. The piece was based on my kids’ playing with clay with their friends, back in the long-ago. The theater piece was presented at the International Human Rights Art Festival, Wild Project Theater, East Village, NYC in December 2019 and then again in 2021, and at the Cut Edge Collective 10-minute Play Festival, Tank Theater, NYC, in February 2022. The short theater piece was filmed (see the video on the left), and then worked up into a TV pilot proposal (“Alphabet City”), which was filmed in Queens in May 2022, produced by Wild Project Productions.

The images are from both the play and TV pilot “sizzle reel,” and the videos are included below. All pictured productions starred Grace Chang as Amanda, and JaneAnne Halter as Becca. In the sizzle reel, Lukas Weatherford played Seth and Ali Kresch-Levine played Gertie.
