A 15-minute excerpt of my new play, "Danny and the Therapist," will be read as part of the year-end event celebrating the work we did in the "Athena Writes" program, with ten playwrights working together over the course of the whole year.  As playwright-in-residence, I formulated he programming and ran the series of workshops, where we met twice a month from January through December.  The plays will be directed by Brad Raimondo (who has also been directing the development of my play "Sub-Basement" with Athena and the evening will be held at the Dramatists Guild Fund.

"Danny and the Therapist" concerns the psychic struggle of a young man (32 years-old) who has reached the end of the line.  On the cusp of committing suicide, Danny has finished Carl Jung's Psyche and Sym and then lain down for one last nap before ending it all.  However, his dream of Jung, his wife and a series of bizarre and philosophical interactions between them opens the doorway out of the abyss for him.
